- Free Shutter Count works with any Canon DSLR camera, but some models might be incompatible due to firmware restrictions. Free Shutter count is not dependant of the numbering system of your sdcard. Free Shutter count try to reveal the real shutter actuation number stored in the firmware of your camera.
- Shutter actuation count is the number of times the shutter button has been pressed and triggered the shutter to release for taking a photo. Photographers care about this number because the shutter mechanism inside their camera body don't last forever, the shutter wears out.

If you have Magic Lantern installed you can check the shutter count on your 60D. All you need to do is install Magic Lantern on your EOS, press MENU and then DISP. The shutter count will appear at the bottom of the screen. Another way to find the shutter count on many EOS models, including the 60D, is to use ShutterCount.

The steps on Windows are: - download the folder from his Google Drive, you'll get a .zip file containing 4 files - unzip and run the .exe file - a small program window appears with empty info boxes - plug the USB cable into the camera and turn the camera on (or half-press the shutter button if it was on sleep) - the info appear in those info boxes Win7. Program runs. Does nothing. LOG IN TO REPLY |

VendeeVendee 451 posts Likes: 352 Joined May 2007 | I checked my 6D shutter count last week. Some of the free downloads seemed a bit dodgy to me. One of them wanted to install some custom USB drivers on my PC..... I ditched that one. I finally settled on a Astro Photo app and that worked. I downloaded the demo version and eventually found my shutter count.... it wasn't that intuitive but I got there in the end. https://www.ideiki.com/astro/Download.aspx | EOS 6D| EOS 3 |EF 24-105mm f/4L|EF 70-200mm f/4L IS |EF 40mm f/2.8 STM |EF 50 f/1.8 II | Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art | Speedlite 430EX II |Pentax MX |Pentax ME Super|Pentax K1000|Kiev 4A|Yashica Electra 35 GTN|Yashica 24 LOG IN TO REPLY |
